    HDMI question

Can anyone give me the name of the site that has the cheap HDMI cables? Just got a blue ray player and I need a cord....didn't want to pay the Best Buy rate.

I purchased mine at firefold.com. It works great for 1/4 the price.

Ditto the monoprice. We got a ton of em and they all work great. We actually have a ton just sitting around cause we got some cheaper ones in bulk. But we got some very nice ones for next to nothing as well.

Cool. Thanks for the help. The cable is ordered and on the way. You can always depend on CF for good advice like this.

I checked out FireFold - HDMI Cables and Products, TV Mounts, Networking, and More! and that's a good site too. Definitely rivals monoprice.

I buy them at Fleet Farm or Home Depot for pretty cheap if I need them right away.

    Re: HDMI question

I've ordered tons of stuff from Monoprice in the past, and love them. Their shipping is insanely fast, and their prices are absurd. Looking at that site helps you realize that places like Best Buy are highway thieves.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

    Re: HDMI question

Not to hijack the thread but it seems OK since the original question has been answered :) I'm wondering if anyone has ever run a long HDMI cord? My basement computer sits at the opposite end of the room from where my tv is. I'd like to run an HDMI cable from the computer to the TV now that I've got someone lined up to get me access to ESPN360. I'd need 60-75'. I know the longer distance is not recommended but I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried it.?

Wow, 75 feet? Assuming your room is a rectangle the long wall is 50 ft and the short wall is 25 feet? That's a pretty big room...

If you are over 50' you won't get a strong enough signal. I think longer cables may come with a built in signal booster. Check monoprice.com for their options if they have any at that length. I've never run long HDMI but I know 75' without something to boost the signal would probably not work well.

    Re: HDMI question

It's not 50 X 25 but it is a decent size room. It's 36 feet long with the computer in the back corner. And the TV is centered at the other end. I'll run the cord through the drop ceiling. So I need approx. 7' up and down as well as another 10' to the center of the room where the TV is. So I've pretty much determined it needs to be longer than 50'.

I have two monoprice cables connected together to run about 40' from my DVR to my TV. Works great for me.
