Season 3 kicked off last night. Not quite as good as season 1 and 2. No Big Tim. They also don't follow Russell as much. It almost looks scrapped together. Kind of a different format. Still pretty good though.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.
I only watched it for a few seconds. It looks like they are following groups using the SE Ridge route (Khumbu to Western Kwm and South Col) which I believe is a little different than the route the groups were using the last two seasons (Western Ridge?). I would assume this is pieced together from the May 09 climbing season?

The reason they are on the other side of the mountain is because the Chinese shut the other side down. The route they are using is the old school route. China shut the other side down for the Olympics. They tried (not sure if they made it) to take the Olympic torch up to the top.
This is a good side. The only problem is the Ice field that is a horrible avalanch area.

Yeah, the Khumbu Ice Field. This is the route made famous by John Krakauer in Into Thin Air. It was also filmed on Imax by David Brearshears and Ed Viesters. If you have ever read much about Everest, this is probably the route most written about.
