Do you like to watch?

I get wanting to watch college football and all 127 bowl games. I get wanting to see a rival go down but I am having a hard time understanding why my husband, a Cyclone "fanantic", would want to sit through the Orange Bowl watching and knowing (as many Cyclones far and wide knew) that the Hawks were going to win. This to me would be like going to your ex of 7 yrs wedding 6 months after they dumped you. I mean who cares. We love the Clones. We had a great season. Let us not torture ourselves by watching and then texting each other about the black and gold defense and how it is good and how that just sucks.
To top it off, my fanatic husband was also flipping back and forth btw the Orange Bowl and the Iowa/Illinois Bball game. I have a bit more understanding with this because of the state of Hawkeye basketball. The more you watch though it starts to become like one of those prevent animal abuse commercials...very sad. While I will never understand the desire to watch, I will forever ask the question "why are we watching this" as I sit along side.

He was probably watching Iowa basketball just to laugh at how bad they are.
He was probably watching Iowa football in hopes that he could witness them lose, or he just likes watching good 'ol college football.

I know Im not the only one but I had to turn the channel quite a few times, because i didn't want to see what was happening. you come back though because its college football and a BCS game on top.

I would love to see more women posting on CycloneFanatic! Great job on your first post! My wife asked me the same questions. Unfortunately, giving a logical answer to these questions is like trying to give a logical answer as to why I have my hand down my pants 95% of the time while I'm sitting on the couch. I did get a useful bit of advice from her I plan on making one of my News Year's resolutions -- "It's o.k. to root for a team but it's unhealthy to root against a team." Like many (but certainly not all) CycloneFanatics I spent too much time and energy this past year rooting against the Hawkeyes. I plan to spend just as much time and energy if not more rooting for the Cyclones in 2010 but less time and energy rooting against the Hawkeyes.

i am very interested in iowa football. I watch nearly every game i can. I hate seeing them win however- but i watch anyway.
