Allied Insurance, tech, everything in house. Headquarters in Des Moines, Owned by Nationwide in Columbus, Ohio. Great company to work for. Tornados in Parkersburg= 2 companies left in that town, Allied Insurance and Farm Bureau, most others treated their customers like crap.
Farm Bureau doesn't have the cheapest insurance, but they have great service to offset that. They try to get the claims handled as quickly as possible. You get what you pay for.
We have FB and have been extremely happy with everything from them. We had a small homeowner claim last year due to hail damage on our roof, and they had an estimator out and had a check to us within 10 days of us calling it in.
Grinnell Mutual - everything is local and they bend over backwards from a service standpoint! One hundred years old in 2009 so they're around to stay...
Also a big ISU sponsor, though the recently retired CEO was a UNI alum...

Reason: add ISU angle

From the story I posted earlier, it doesn't seem like Nationwide/Allied meet my criteria
Missed the story... didn't realize that was happenning. I've dealt with MANY mortgage company service reps from India... most are difficult to understand and take twice as long to get things done. However, all they do is call and update/confirm mortgage clauses on policies. It's very simple and requires almost no thought. I'd also assume they get a fraction of the salary.
I'll look further, but my guess is that those jobs are more like the ones I described above.
