Just curious if anyone has read the stuff on jobvent.com, it's probably hopping given the latest worker satisfaction numbers.
Re: Worker happiness
Just looked at it for the first time. Interesting, though I struggled to find company/agency on the list of which I have first-hand knowledge about the work environment.
I think it boils down to individuals looking for a place to complain about whatever is bugging them - whether we're in a good economy or bad. I've worked in places in the best of economic times where it's bad attitudes by others, or poor management, etc., etc., made it a crummy place to work. And, on the other hand, I'm currently in a job in the worst of times, but management isn't acting insane, so it's quite tolerable. Yet, there are people around me who still find the most ridiculous minutia to bark and carp about instead of ever giving one thought to what is going in the right direction.
Some people wouldn't be happy even if they could poop gold turds.
I'm not saying there aren't crummy places to work, but I also believe in the power of having the right attitude. And besides, if it's THAT crummy - leeeeeeeeave.
