Anyone play tennis in Des Moines?
TennisMaps | Tennis Courts in Des Moines, IA
Attached is a map showing all the courts in the DSM....I'm getting the itch to play, however, obviously I would have to join a gym at this point if I wanted to play indoors. Anyone have any preferences of a good place to play out of the indoor choices?? I know there's leagues out there, just wanted to get people's temperature on whats good out there....fyi i'm 30, so i could probably fit in most leagues agewise.

I dont know anything about tennis, but I dont think you would be able to fit into Mike Gundy's "Man" league until you're 40 though...

Re: Anyone play tennis in Des Moines?
I've tried both Aspen and 7 Flags. 7 Flags has more people playing, but it seems like a lot of them are trying to learn how to play. Aspen had a tennis ladder, but it was hard to get anyone willing to play on a regular basis. My wife and I ended up dropping our memberships and just hitting in the park off of 37th St just north of Beaver. If you ever want to play once it warms up send me a pm. I'm 33 and the last time I played competitively (been a while) I had a 4.0 USTA ranking...probably down to a 3.0 since I haven't played seriously for quite some time.

In Ankeny we played at Hawkeye park. After work, we play at Roosevelt Highschool. They have 12 courts there.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Very good, I think I will get a hold of you once it gets nice. In the interim, thats good to know about those places....one of the things that had me interested in going was they had use of ball machines, which is a good way to get back in the groove.
