Any recommendations on space heaters. Our wife and I just brought our new born baby girl home. Since our master bedroom gets a little cold at night because we have tall ceilings, I would like a little help to keep it comfortable. Thanks.

I 'm not sure how cold your room gets but I would check with your pediatrician to see what they recommend for room temp. for your baby. You don't want it too hot in there and babies can stay pretty warm when they are in a onsie and pjs and well swaddled in a blanket. I've heard something like 68 deg is good???

I want to keep the temp around the 68 degree range, the problem is, If my master is 68, the rest of my house is about 75. I am just wanting something to keep the rooms consistent.Quote:

I have a two-story and the temp is never consistent across floor. Running the furnace fan all the time helps some (as opposed to only when the furnace comes on).Quote:

along the Lowes path, we just bought one that has ceramic heating elements, as well as a thermostat and remote, only cost around $60 I think. works great to just cut the chill in between furnace cycles.

Get a LASKO ceramic one at Lowe's. They rock. You can set the temp on them and they all have safety shut offs as well.
A space heater in the house to keep a baby warm is the equivalent of having a gun in your house to keep your family safe. The odds of a child finding the gun and accidentally shooting him/her self is greater than the odds of a burglar breaking into your house while you're home and you needing to use the gun. The odds of a space heater causing a fire is just too great in my opinion.
I have a 4 level house and the fan has run continuously for the last 6 years since we install the furnace. It is not perfect for keeping all the levels the same temperature but it sure helps. Make sure you have a fairly new furnace that has a sealed fan motor and not one that has to be oiled.
I seriously just bought one about 3 hours ago. It's a Honeywell from Wal-Mart. It's digital and was $65 dollars. It has a lot of safety features... automatic timer shutoff, overheating automatic shutoff. We live an apartment with a huge living room with a 14 foot ceiling, and of course the heater vents are against the ceiling. The furnace couldn't keep up. It has warmed up the room about 4 degrees in about 2 hours, and the furnace is able to shut off now!
I don't care what PGreen says. With common sense usage, most any UL-listed electric microwave oven will keep your baby warm.
