Calculator question

I cant remember the name of this calculator...Its about 5" by 8" its used by engineers....if you could give me the name and a picture of it...I would like to get one, just dont know the name. I know what it looks like, Thats the reason for the picture. Thanks in advance

old school: ti-92

new school: voyage 200

Which one do you prefer? and why?

They're more or less the same. The TI 92 was discontinued and the voyage replaced it.

The 89 is essentially a 92 in a different form factor, IIRC.

I had the TI-83 in high school...and if you were REALLY cool, you had the TI-83 Plus!

I priced the Voygage 200. For just a few dollars more, you can get an ipod touch. There are a lot of scientific/engineering apps available, and you can do a lot of other things, too.

Hell I had a TI 83 Silver. Yea, that's right you could see through it

Except it's an 83 so there's no imaginary calculation support by default. Boy was that fun programming all that crap in BASIC for my Circuit Theory classes

I bricked it somehow my junior year and refused to buy a new calculator. Sure made Statistics interesting :biglaugh:

I've had the TI-83, TI-83+, TI-86, TI-89 Titanium! and sold them all!

What's with all this TI stuff? Real engineers use HP. :wink:

I used an HP-41CV from 1983 until sometime in the late 1990s. It was in great physical shape...and then one day it would no longer power up. I then had an HP 42S until 2008, and then keyboard went bad. I've got an HP-35S now.

Wow I am kind of amazed at the responses to this thread. I didn't think any self respecting engineers used anything other than a (far superior) RPN calculator, preferably an HP 32S (or 48G if you couldn't get your hands on the other).

Probably because a lot of high school calc books are based on using TI graphing calculators.
