Foundation Repair Companies

My home is settling and needs to be corrected. I have found one company that raises foundations and is giving me an estimate. Not Cheap. If anyone has references of other companies I would appreciate it. Thanks. I am in the Des Moines area even though my login name is from KC. :smile:

Was your quote for mudjacking or helical piers? The 2 common fixes are pressure injected grout (mudjacking) or helical piers. pressure injected grout works by injecting the grout under the footing, stabilizes the subgrade below footing. helical piers are steel shafts that are drilled down to bedrock or more stiff soil.

Be careful with injection grouting. If your foundation is actively moving the pressure grouting will actually make the issue worse as it increases pore water pressures and will make the settlement accelerate.

Do you guys still do the helical pier house jacking? I know we did that job down in southern Iowa and it was a major pain.

We stay out of the residential business now. As you remember it can be a pain. We still do commercial and industrial work though.
