This is also a good web site to ask questions.

Great links! I had no idea there was a whole shaving world out there. This is as bad, but better for you, than cigars, wine, top shelf drink...equal to the finer things in life.

Is there any place in the DM area that carries high end shaving supplies so someone can review the brushes and razors to get an idea as to what all of this is about. Doesn't appear that it would take to long to be money ahead with a safety blade compared to a Fushion or similar.

No, not really. I'm going to Las Vegas in a few weeks and they have an Art of Shaving store that I may check out.

The key is keeping it soaked in mineral oil. If you don't do that the air oxidizes the blade quick.

I flip the blade over mid year as well.

So you can really use a blade for a year?

Yes. I put in a new one on the first day of the new year and that's it.

Now I will say it doesn't have the edge at the end of the year that it did at the beginning...Still I never nick myself. That's the key for me. If it's cutting whiskers and not skin, it's working. Also I only shave every other day.

Well you guys have got me sold. I do like the finer things in life. Next trip I'll have to see if a razor shop is close buy. I like the elegance about this...reminds me of the old days as a kid and my dad shaving. Okay, yes I just aged myself.

Newer isn't necessarily better. The one I have is made in Germany, so you know the quality is great and it has been. It's much better than the old schick saftey razors my dad used to use.

And I really do believe I can shave closer and quicker with it then either an electric or multiblade razor. They're really wide blades.
