"AntiVirus Live" Malware
I had this malware on my PC and it screwed it up good. I got rid of it, I THINK, with a full scan using Malware Bytes. But last night I also noticed it had changed my internet settings to connect through a proxy server. I assume this means everything I've done on my pc in the last few days has been tracked, recorded, key logged...whatever. Do I need to change all my passwords and everything? Has anyone else had any experience with this?

I wouldnt worry too much about it. That proxy check box doesnt do a whole lot unless there is a location set to be the proxy. Did it makes any changes in location?

No, the proxy server field was blank, but prior to unchecking the box I was unable to download updates to Malware Bytes or ZoneAlarm. Does that mean anything?

You want that unchecked for sure. It basically was trying to send your traffic to a proxy server that didnt exist so you couldnt update your stuff. Your scan obviously cleaned out the infection. You should be ok. If if would make you feel safer, run spybot s&d as well just to see if it grabs anything else.

I like combofix as well, good at searching out rootkits that malware bytes can miss.
