Ok I have mixed feelings on this topic because I think anything that is done for Haiti is good but I also get sick of how the US basically has become the charity fund for the entire world while we have homeless, poverty, starving kids, etc. right here in our own country that can never seem to get enough help. I didn't see the rest of the world coming to our aide after something like 9/11 did you? Seems like the rest of the world expects the US to bail them out in hard times yet when is the favor ever returned to us? Some countries curse our name but the second a disaster happens guess who all the sudden wants to be friends with us?
Just saying, I really have mixed feelings when it comes to international issues like this because of how some places in the world speak of our country and I hate seeing aide and money go out of the country sometimes when we have use for it right here in the US for people that would appreciate it more.
Yeach cuz Haiti definately hates the US and is definately in a position to help us whenever we have a 911 or a Katrina.
You hate seeing aid go out to other countries? What do you think they spend the money that we give them on? Yeah, they spend it on American products like food, water and supplies.
I thought we got tremendous support from most nations after 9-11. I think the President of France was about the first to express his outrage and said something like "we are all Americans today". I don't know how much support was monetary, but I doubt we asked for it or other countries thought we needed it to rebuild. We don't always do it, but I'd like to think America takes care of its own and is always willing to help when others need it in a disaster like Haiti.
