Anyone been on the Yuengling Brewery Tour?
Going to PA for a meeting and thought about touring the brewery. Anyone been on it and was it worthwhile? I also plan on going to Baltimore for the afternoon to get fresh crab and Yuengling for a barbecue back in Iowa. I have never purchased fresh crab before. Do you buy this stuff by the docks or is their a market with fresh crab that I can swing into? I am going to box up a cooler and check it on the plane filled with as much beer and crab as will fit. Hopefully their isn't a regulation against this. I ask about the crab purchasing because I don't want to be the guy at the dock that gets mugged and left for fish bait.

Never been, but Yuengling is one of my favorite beers. I would think if you came out dissappointed, it must be because of really crappy presentation on their part!!

I agree. I had it for the first time in September and am a big fan. It looks like it will be a non issue to check it on the plane so I will be set.

A pretty mediocre beer and I've heard a pretty medicore tour.

Is this available in Iowa, or more specifically Cedar Rapids? Never tried it but would like to.

Not available in Iowa. I believe Chicago has it now but thats as far East as it goes. Probably what makes it taste better. Kind of the Coors mystique of old.

Re: Anyone been on the Yuengling Brewery Tour?
I found it one of the most overrated beers I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't live up to the hype. I think people make a big deal about because you can't get it in the western half of the country.

Yuenling is to Pennsylvania what Old Milwaukee is to Wisconsin. You might as well buy some Iron City. I don't know if winter is a good time to buy crab, but don't bother packing up any Yuckling.

yuengling is not bad beer, but to each is own. but oldest American brewery continously owned. don't need to to go to the coast for fresh seafood but the harbor is cool for a visit.

I must respectfully disagree,I think Yuengling is the best beer I've ever tasted, and I've drank alot of beer.

Re: Anyone been on the Yuengling Brewery Tour?
I wouldn't go so far as to say Yuengling isn't the best, but I wouldn't equate it to Milkuake Best either

I still think the best non-microbrew American Lager is Grain Belt, and it isn't really even close, but that's just my opinion. Like I said, Yuengling isn't bad, but I'm just not as wild about it as most people.

I love Yuengling, but my opinion of it may be directly linked to 10 cent wings and 1.50 Yuengling Wednesday Happy Hour at the Capitol Lounge in D.C.
