Apple's Big Show Wednesday
So Apple is having their usual January announcement of new things. Anyone else looking forward to this?
So far, the big rumors are: - Apple tablet. This one has been confirmed today (someone from a book company that'll sell ebooks on it spilled the beans on cnbc). Will have 3g\wifi connectivity, possibly on verizon as well as att (this ties with next rumor)
- iPhone for Verizon (possibly other providers as well)- this one is much less confirmed. Various rumors as to when this will drop, and some rumors say it might be 4g (LTE) capable. Could actually release anywhere from now-fall, depending on the rumor you read
- Video camera for ipod touch. This was rumored last time, and last minute hardware problems were rumored to have kept it from happening. Can't say i'll be thrilled with this as i have a 4 month old ipod touch, but its a good addition

Good they keep pushing the competition, but it's hard to get excited about overpriced
overhyped stuff.

I'm a fan of the computers. No viruses and extremely user-friendly

Re: Apple's Big Show Wednesday
I love how Apple pushes the envelope and keeps its competitors on their toes. Their products almost all start with being user friendly.
The Ipod touch is my favorite gadget by far. Highly recommend it.

I can't stand apple computers, very overpriced and if you are a good internet user you won't get viruses or anything anyway so you won't have anything to worry about.

Re: Apple's Big Show Wednesday
My prediction is Verizon gets the tablet and Iphhone get 4.0 OS.

The Ipod touch is my favorite gadget by far. Highly recommend it. Oh, I agree on the Touch, I have one, and like it, however I would like to be able to
replace my own battery when the time comes. I think the iphone is going to have
to become more provider friendly, if they are going to stem the competition tide.
As far as the computers being virus free, that has been true for the most part, however
they are not as immune to spyware and malware , and when someone decides they finally
want to take them down, and write hacks for them, they will be mostly unprepared, in my opinion. But they do push the envelope, which inspires the competition to move forward which is very important.

Re: Apple's Big Show Wednesday
If the iPhone becomes Verizon compatible I might have no choice but to switch. AT&T has been really getting on my nerves lately. I can name two spots I routinely drop calls that are IN DES MOINES, not to mention the giant dead zone near Grand View.

The Ipod touch is my favorite gadget by far. Highly recommend it. You really think that they "push the envelope"? Since attaching a mouse to a computer; what is one thing that they have created that "pushes the envelope"? Tablet laptops have been out for several years on the PC side. Their ITouch was simply catching up to Windows Mobile devices that had been out for several years. Even the I-Pod was after other had created the technology. The only frontier they attempted was the Newton.
However, while Apple doesn't really push the envelope at all, the do a great job at making things easy to use and stylish.

I believe xerox created the mouse, apple/microsoft just stole it.

I hope the iphone does come to verizon. Id probably get it then, But I refuse to have any phone on the pathetic at&t network.

Re: Apple's Big Show Wednesday
Whoopee.
Another tablet computer. Their phone finally on a decent network. Another cruddy video camera. Zzzzzzz.
Apple doesn't make bad products. They make very good products. But even with the good amount of substance they offer, they're still mostly about style. Vastly overpriced style.

Re: Apple's Big Show Wednesday
I frequently find it amusing the same usual suspects have to fly out of the wood work when this stuff comes up. Did anyone ask about pricing? I think alarson was seeking a discussion about the speculation of new items being announced today.
If these things are so overprices and some have such a disdain for them - why continue to talk about it?
The Verizon addition could be nice...would definitely take a look at moving there - have never spent time looking at their rates as it hasn't really been an option.
