So we order a new fridge last Friday. Today I get curious and call the company inquiring about what happened to it. The customer service lady called the freight company and the freight company said that it was delivered and signed for by someone I've never heard of. I looked around the property and can't find it anywhere and no one remembers even seeing a truck come through and no one has ever heard of that lady's name.
Called back the company and this time got some new guy who wanted to ship me another fridge, telling me if the other shows up I can just refuse it or keep and get billed for two fridges. Tried to get it through his head that it had already been signed for so if we do that I would get billed for two but only get one. Anyway, now I'm waiting for more information from the company, but so much for my agenda for the day.
I had almost the same thing happen to me with a digital SLR I ordered last year and had delivered to my office at ISU. Some ******* mail lady for another department signed for it and it sat in their mail room on another floor for a week before we finally tracked it down. At least you potentially have the person's name...the mail lady actually signed MY name.
Similar thing happened to me this week. Package was dropped off on the 19th (scheduled for the 29th) and was signed by someone. Still waiting to hear who signed for it.

Was it UPS? You should be able to see the digital signature if you have the tracking number.

Good luck being able to read the signature. I sign the digital pad thingy at least three times a week at work and can't even make out my own signature on those pieces of crap.

Usually UPS asks you to spell out your name so they can put it into the computer.
Never w/ a 'fridge, but had an extra package delivered from an Amazon marketplace company. My name on the outside, but the receipt and book was for someone else--got my book separately as well.
I emailed the guy who was supposed to get the book and sent it to him, but I could have kept it. Really weird. This was just last week.

We're still working on it. We went online to track last night and saw it was 'delivered' last week. It wasn't anything valuable but that's not the point...but to their credit, we've never had anything turn up missing before.
I had a printer break once under warranty. The company said they'd ship us a new printer, and we should ship the broken printer back to them in the same box. We didn't get a printer, but a month later we got a letter from them asking why we hadn't shipped the broken printer back yet. We called them, and eventually figured out that someone from another apartment in our complex said they knew us said they knew us when Airborne Express tried to deliver the new printer, and the delivery guy just gave it to them. We have no idea who actually received that printer. The company shipped us another printer and let Airborne Express find or pay for the other one.
