Radio Shack is becoming a joke as well. Sure their stores are neat and the people know what is going on, part of the time, but most things they sell you can get a Menards for 1/3 of the price.

I've found that their laptop prices are pretty good. You're not going to get the high end stuff, but you can get quite a bit from their $500 range. At least for Dell or HP, you can't order them for the price that they offer in their ads.

thats kinda true. if you custom build, youre correct... but if you get one of those quick ship models, often you can find good deals. Also you can usually find better deals on those same laptops on amazon, either its 50 cheaper or they add an upgrade for the same price.

I work at the Best Buy here in town, we constantly make fun of how crappy the des moines stores are. Seems like we have most customers that would rather drive up to ames and deal with us then go to the Des Moines stores.

For real? Ive been to the ames one, the 42nd street one, and the jordan creek one, and id rank them:
    Jordan Creek
    42nd
    Ames

I would *much* rather deal with the wdm store. Especially when it comes to customer service. Whoever runs customer service at the ames one tries to fight *everything* with the customer.
