Felony snowball throwing - what a joke
Apparently it's a FELONY to throw snowballs at cars in Virginia now. What a freaking joke, these charges better not stand. Felony Snowball Tossing Charges Lodged - February 9, 2010 -

Felony may be a bit extreme...

They forgot to mention the snowballs had grenades in them... When Prepared, Fear No One. -

Yeah, and dropping rocks off of overpasses onto cars shouldn't be illegal either. God, where's the fun! Throwing seven different kinds of smoke! -

won't that be great a few years from now in virginia when like half a 3rd grade classroom are convicted felons. who honestly didn't do this when they were younger at one point?? I think they're going to a bit of an extreme on this one.

While I understand the outrage over this, think about it for a second. You are driving down the road and all of a sudden something hits your windshield.
That may startle some people enough to lose control of their cars. It is pretty hard not to react. I think that's where the problem lies.

Re: Felony snowball throwing - what a joke
I used to work with a kid who got caught throwing water balloons at cars. Supposedly the balloons cracked someone's windshield, I'm not sure if that part is true. But the kid definitely got charged with a felony.
My car got hit with a water balloon once while driving. It surprised the heck out of me, but we started cracking up. I was just happy it didn't come in through the sunroof.

The real question is... will I get a felony in Iowa if I get caught? -

When I was kid, there were always jerks who thought it was fun to compact their snowballs into iceballs (when the snow/conditions permitted). Not much difference between one of those and a rock.
