Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
Just wondering if anybody has any places that they would recommend staying for a Cubs game (going to a few games this summer). Looking for something within about 40 minutes of Wrigley that is in the $100 range (probably going to have to stay away from downtown to get something nice that is in that range). I would appreciate any suggestions.
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
Stayed here once, it's a bit more than your $100 price range, but eliminates the need to figure out how to get to the stadium since it's within walking distance.
Wrigley Field Hotels * Wrigley Field Hotels Chicago * Lodging Near Wrigley Field * Majestic Hotel
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
i always use priceline and get a hotel for around 65-75 dollars usually at least a 3 or 4 start hotel down around Michigan ave
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
I agree, use priceline and you can get something right downtown. Then you just hop on the train and it is very quick ride that stops at the addison station. Only downside is you have to pay for parking at the hotel if you are driving. Parking is usually an additional $30-40 per day.
I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just off Michigan avenue and that worked perfect.

Stay at the Majestic Hotel---I think it is only 4 or 5 blocks away from the stadium but it is pretty nice. I think we paid 119/night or something like that. We were able to stumble home after the games each night...
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
I stayed at a Holiday Inns an Suites by the airport in Rosemont. It is incredibly easy to get to Wrigley from there. We would ride the shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport and get on the blue line train. You ride the train to the Addison station and take the bus from there to Wrigley. Takes about 45min to 1 hour to get there. The hotel is very nice and there is a Harry Carry's Italian Steakhouse in the hotel.
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
I pricelined a really nice hotel 15 minutes from downtown for $45 this summer and drove to the Howard Train station parked for a couple bucks and rode the train into the game for a couple bucks.
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
How about if someone wanted to stay downtown near the red line and not far from Harry Caray's resturaunt?

Stay out in Rosemont (by O'Hare) and take the train to the games.

I stayed in a marriot suites kitty corner from Harry Caray's, very nice and I believe priced decently. Right down the street from the House of Blues.
Re: Hotels for Chicago Cubs games
I second the Majestic. Rooms are kinda small, but extremely friendly, comfortable and like said above 4 blocks away from Wrigley.

40 minute drive or 40 minute train ride? What time of day the game is depends too. What type of neighborhood do you want to stay in? Do you want to do anything besides go to the game? etc..
