Nope. Haven't watched any of it, and don't plan on it

Not yet. Waiting for my favorite event/s, then I will

Olympics...are you watching?
Just curious. I moved recently, and haven't had a tv til yesterday. But, still haven't seen one second of the Olympics...and may not even bother. Have people been watching?

Should add this option:
Nope, would watch it but I don't have the time.

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I've watched quite a bit of the Olympics. In fact, watching the Olympics is the first time I've even bothered turning the television on in months.

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I check to see what is on, but really have little interest except for perhaps hockey and curling. I did want to see the snowboard supercross (if that's what it's called), but missed it. -
Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I guess I am the kind of guy that finds interest in most competitive sports. I can't seem to get enough of the Olympics and I'm not quite sure why. I think it is because the events are so unique. The sports are mostly things that we don't see but once every 4 years and all of these athletes pour so much of themselves into these couple of weeks of competition. Personal favorites are Curling, Speed Skating and Hockey. It's just fun to watch and fun to root on the good ol' USA!

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
golf, bowling, NASCAR are more of a sport than figure skating.

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
It's just about all I've been watching. Seen a little of every sport, love watching the obscure sports that I only see every four years. Sometimes it's just on in the background while studying, but it's there and I'm interested.

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I really think the Olympics have lost their appeal for a number of reasons:
1) There are so many options for watching sports on TV every day of the year now.
2) Almost all Olympians are professional athletes now.
3) You don't have the Cold War "us v. them" prevailing attitude now.
That is why you will never see another 1980 US Hockey Team story emerge again from the Olympics.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I am sick and tired of figure skating when is that over?

Re: Olympics...are you watching?
I believe the appeal of the Olympics continues to grow. What other event costs $1,000 to attend the opening ceremonies before the athletes are even competing?
As options increase for watching different sports on television, the Olympics become the showcase for watching many of those events. In other words the increased exposure of these other sports feeds the appetite for the Olympics.
There simply isn't another stage that offers a venue where the best athletes in the world compete among each other.

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there. -

Originally Posted by tman24 I am sick and tired of figure skating when is that over? I am too. Apparently it is a gender thing since many women really enjoy watching the figure skating competition.

I watch the Olympics if it is on at the bar.

I am a little tired of the human interest stories too. How many times do we need to hear about the 1st Canadian gold and his brother? and if we have any more special reports on the boy who died and whether it was the course or human error I think I'll scream. So far, I think the coverage this year has stunk it up.
