Here's the thing - (not to get all political) now the world is going to go all "global warming" on these Olympics, but an honest question - considering everyone knows what the climate in Seattle is like, would anyone with half a brain hold Winter Olympics there? Then why the hell would you hold them in Vancouver, a place that's just 2 hours north with the exact same climate? Because it's Canada and every part of Canada is cold in the winter? Where's Jim Rome's manual buzzer when I need it?
Separate Vancouver from Whistler. Whistler is NOT Vancouver. They have always had year-round skiing at whistker/blackcomb.
I have some relatives there, so I may be a little sensitive. We're rivals in the Olympics but I don't feel anywhere near the dislike for Canada as I do the hawkeyes. Maybe it's because Canada isn't much of a threat to us in most sports or anything else except hockey and a few winter sports. Also my experience is that Canadiens are a more humble and likeable group than the squawks.
I think some Canadians have little brother syndrome going on. Hard not to when you have a relatively small country population wise right next to a huge country like the U.S.
They've been very good neighbors and have been good to the US over the years. I'll never forget how they helped get some Americans out of Iran when the whole hostage crisis broke.
We probably will again after we destroy them on Sunday. They have already shown aggression and taken the lives of many Americans with this cold *** weather they keep piping down here. I consider that an act of war!!!
Nice. Bashing the country that's been our strongest ally and good neighbor for over 200 years. I guess it's the conservative thing to do since they have national health insurance, but they also provide more oil for us than the middle east, and got into world war 2 before we did. Not exactly the dumb wimps some people like to make them out to be (and I think their economy is doing a lot better than ours). I've been to Canada numerous times and they have a beautiful country and great people.
