for the high school football season to start August 20th? For one thing it can get severely humid and can affect how the game is played. Also, most schools aren't in session then. Back when I was in high school the first game was always the first Friday in September. I was looking at the CIML Website and it said that the 20th is the kickoff to the HS Football season this year!

Try playing down south. I played in Florida during middle school and we had to practice on the game field a few days because the practice fields were flooded. We had to cross the track on benches because the track was also flooded. It was also over 95 degrees. Drink enough water and make sure everyone has a current physical.

I know our football season back home usually starts around then so as to have a thanksgiving state championship. Back when I played, if it started any later I probably would have had an brain hemorrhage from the anticipation.
