Best Bond Movie ever?
Just saw Casino Royale on TV, and I personally think is one of the best Bond movies they made.
Just wondering what other fanatics thought.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
Casino Royale was fantastic, one of the best. If I had to pick one it would come down to The Spy Who Loved Me or Goldfinger. I'll go with The Spy Who Loved Me. Roger Moore was my favorite Bond, although Daniel Craig is doing some fantastic work.
The Pierce Brosnan days were pretty bad for the Bond series. They just about lost me with some of his garbage.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
Brosnan in Goldeneye was most likely my #2 favorite, but he did go downhill pretty quickly.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
I always thought Brosnan was too much of a wimp to be a good Bond. I think Craig could possibly push Sean Connery for the best Bond portrayal. I used to like Moore, but I've soured on him as I get older. Too pretty for Bond, imo.
I liked Casino Royale, though the principal Bond Girl I thought was extremely weak. She looked way too "Sophomore in High School-ish".
I really like the Bond series, though, and find that everyone's tastes vary as to what is best.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
I think that Casino Royale was perhaps the worst Bond movie ever. Thunderball was the best in my opinion. If you like the old Bond movies chances are you think that the new ones are not good...

Just wondering what other fanatics thought. Which Casino Royale? 1967?

Just about all the post Roger Moore Bond movies have sucked hard, prior to Casino Royale.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
I enjoy the 'new' Bond persona in Casino Royale..... Craig brings a bit of the dark side with him.
But for me, Goldfinger was the best Bond movie.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
I don't know if I can pinpoint best movie....but best line ever..
Bond "Do you expect me to talk?"
Goldfinger: "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die"

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
OK. Here are the problems with Casino Royale: Bond comes out of the water in a speedo instead of a chick in a bikini. The entire movie is based on a $100 million con, sounds like Austin Powers' ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Bond is now some kind of poker playing cage fighter?
I was an extra in Goldeneye; watching Brosnan attempt to run to a boat at a speed that my mother could run him down kind of ruined it for me, he was a nice guy though. I don't think that any of the new Bond movies compare to the old ones or The Spy who loved me etc.

Re: Best Bond Movie ever?
I like the new style of Bond as well, but my favorite is From Russia with Love. Has everything, and the Gypsy girl fight is priceless.
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."
