The one thing that Miller and Deace don't do is sensationalize to draw in listeners. I could do without the LOST talk as I don't watch that show, but I know to not listen that first hour on Wednesdays. I also don't really appreciate Millers' Flounder impression (This is gonna be GREAT) when it comes to conference realignment and ISU basically being forced to mid-major status. But overall, I think it's a fair show and Deace doesn't claim to be super Cyclone fan or insider, but he admits rooting for them.

I've quit listening to Murph and Andy. I just think that they try too hard to be funny. And they're not that funny. Another Shawn Johnson interview and I'm going to throw my mouse through the monitor.

I, for one really like their show. A lot probably has to do with being about the same age and thus whenever they go off-topic (i.e....non-sports) I can pretty much relate. Be honest, they definitely have a chemistry and it comes off well on the air. My wife, who is NOT a sportstalk radio fan, even listens occasionally because she's found them to be entertaining as well.

That said, I'll switch over to Mike and Mike if I'm not interested in the topic (and definitely at the top of the hour given KXNO's annoyingly long commercial breaks).

After having to endure the train wreck that Cotlar put on the air every morning, this is such a nice upgrade for local morning sports talk in Des Moines.

I like thier show, and Jon has got alot better at not sounding like such a hommer. I think Deace is crazy smart about ISU athletics, and since it is not his #1 team, that earks some people here.

Also, hope they gave up the TV gig, because those guys both have faces for radio.

Just noticing that there are several threads on the front page right now with more replies than this one. Sure, I'm replying right now while I actually listen to the show, but are they serious thinking that they've got that kind of attention-grabbing ability?

1. Deace's "I don't have time for that" talk about everything except college football. I realize he has another show and family but I find it hard to believe he can't watch Iowa or ISU basketball occasionally. But he has time to play WWE video games? Fail.
2. They tend to talk about the same things over and over and say the same things over and over.

Other than that, I really like their show.

And explaining why said posts are wrong. It's coming off to me as more of a defense of themselves than an honest look at themselves. Whether those posts were right or wrong, and there's room to discuss that, this is the impression I got before I turned it off.

I got suckered in. Not real proud of that.

I'd say I agree with Miller and Deace more often than not. Much better show than Cotlar. No comparison! I agree with others on the timing/length of commericial/FoxSports/traffic updates. I just switch over to Sirius radio then.

The M&D intros are sort of corny and get annoying. I agree with a lot of what Deace has to say, but he is definitely not a Cyclone insider. and i think he would admit that.
