Airport Satisfaction Study
Detroit tops airport satisfaction study - CNN.com
The results are pretty interesting.
I have been through 15 of the 17 airports listed, most of them multiple times, and I would agree that Detroit and Denver are tops. They have some of the best transit systems and features of any airport I have ever been to. Sky Harbor in Phoenix is rated way too high though. And O'Hare should be dead last by a wide margin.

I'd also probably knock Atlanta down a few notches - it just always seems grimy (although LAX is, too). I didn't think Newark was worst, although I do remember it being quite inconvenient - O'Hare was definitely below it.

Newark is awful. If LaGuardia was on this survey they would be knock them out of the bottom slot. Philadelphia is not at the bottom but they can see the bottom from where they reside.
Detroit is nice as is Denver. MSP is nice, but I always thought it required some monster walks, typically accompanied by a tight connection. DFW is not my favorite but greatly improved.
I have never been an O'Hare hater like most, but realize I am seemingly the only one.

I have never been an O'Hare hater like most, but realize I am seemingly the only one. The reason that I hate O'Hare so much is that you don't even have to be flying through that airport for it to screw you. They have their little "flow control" technique where they shut down half of their runways, and it can keep you grounded pretty much anywhere in the country.
I was flying from Harrisburg, PA to another small airport in Pennsylvania, and I had to spend a huge amount of time there, because the night before, O'Hare didn't release the plane that my flight was going to use until very, very late. There was nothing wrong with the plane. It was just due to "flow" control. By the time it did make it to Harrisburg, it was late enough that the pilots couldn't fly on time the next day, because they can only work so many hours in a given time period.

I HATE ATL with a passion. The rudest, least helpful employees on the face of the earth, a gate assignment system that consists of drunken monkeys throwing poo at a dartboard, and a layout that appears to have been designed by Dante to replicate his layers of Hell.
Just cannot despise ATL enough...

Re: Airport Satisfaction Study
Orlando's airport was awesome IMO.
Denver is excellent (the moving sidewalks kick ***)
Sea-Tac sucks complete balls.
Atlanta makes Sea-Tac seem awesome it sucks so bad.

Surprised O'Hare is on the list. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine airport, but IMO doesn't hold anything on MSP. I think it starts if you ride the train to O'Hare, you get off and if you don't know the airport well, you have no idea what terminal to go to.
Also surprised Reagan isn't on the list? I think that airport is fine except for the whole security at EVERY terminal thing. Such an easy airport to get in and out of though and the concourses are nice. I was in DC this past weekend and everything was great at that airport.
MSP is still my favorite airport, but that might be because i grew up in Minnesota and have flown out of MSP at least 100 times.

Atlanta makes Sea-Tac seem awesome it sucks so bad. I have mixed reviews on Sea-Tac. Had good experiences and bad experiences.
The two that I cannot believe are not on there are BMI and Washington Reagan. The security system at BMI is not set up well at all, and they always have had incrediblt long lines when I have been there.
And Washington Reagan just has nothing to it. Maybe it was too small to make the list. I was stranded there for when the remnants of Hurricane Ivan were hitting the DC area, and there is nothing to do there after about 7:30 at night. All the bars, restaurants and shops closed up. And this was before they had wifi. Terrible night.
Surprisingly, despite all the complaints that you hear about it, I have never had a bad experience at LAX. I've heard horror stories from other people, but it's always treated me fine.

I think they only rated 17 airports. O'Hare is way down at the bottom. Should be lower, IMHO. If it could somehow finish 23rd out of 17, I would be all for it.

Kinda true, but the airport is so damn easy to get in and out of. What do you expect though? It's in Crystal City..

I agree completely. I don't think O'Hare should be on the list at all. It has nothing on airports like Denver or Minneapolis-St. Paul. Never been to Detroit so I can't comment on that.

It's straight out of a dystopian sci-fi film. Want to see how you get your Luggage? You board one of these things and it takes you across the tarmac to another building so you can get your luggage.
Reagan is about at least 100 times better than Dulles
