LOST: Dr. Linus
Ben as a history teacher. My kind of episode!
Anybody else get the creepy feeling that Jacob & MiB are, or were once, brothers?
And I don't care if I have no proof, Illana is Jacob's daughter. She knows waaaaay too much.

Re: LOST: Dr. Linus
Finally, an episode dedicated to the show's most interesting character. I hope Annie makes an appearance, the producers promised that after season 2.

I have written Annie off as completely insignificant at this point. Also, Annie didn't appear until the season 3 episode "The Man Behind The Curtain." -
Re: LOST: Dr. Linus
Sorry season 3, and I don't know how they could work it in but that has been bugging me since that episode and later hearing the producers say how she is one of the two most important women in his life. I guess if he has a wife in his sideways flashes tonight she may be named Annie and that would wrap it up but it would be disappointing.

Remind me who Annie is.
Ben is my 2nd favorite character behind Locke.

My guess is his relationship with Annie was inserted to show the audience that he wasn't always a brutal man. Then again, in the Season 4 episode "The Other Woman, he is the exact polar opposite with his murderous lust for Juliet. Another 360 and he is genuinely mourning the death of his "daughter" Alex.
Is this really going to be the end of Ben Linus?

How is Ben a teacher? I thought he moved to the island with his dad and stayed there.

That's why this episode will be so intruiging.
Here's what I'm thinking.
In episode #1 of season 3, it shows the plane crashing from the "others" perspective and clearly shows Ben as surprised. He then orders Ethan and a couple others to get names and information about survivors. If the plane never crashed, then maybe he has to find a new way to get people to the island....so maybe thats why we see him as a professor/teacher.

Re: LOST: Dr. Linus
Im still fuzzy on a few things. So Jacobs cabin, why was it surrounded by ash? Was this explained? Also, Ben had the ability to unleash the smoke monster, how? How did Ben have control over it? But yet the smoke monster is the mib and doesnt seem to be controllable.

Ilana did take Jacob's ashes too after he died.

Re: LOST: Dr. Linus
I always thought the Ash was supposed to protect the cabin from the smoke monster. But Jacob didnt need protection from Smokey. Its odd for sure.

Well in the Lost Enhanced episode (I think it was season 6 episode 3..) they stated that the ash around the cabin was meant to keep the smoke monster out, but that doesn't necessarily have to be true as it has contradicted itself before.
