Date Night: Waterfront
Have a date coming up at the University Waterfront Seafood Market Restaurant. Never been there before... and I love seafood so I'm really excited. Do I need to call ahead for dinner reservations on a weeknight? How fancy of a place is it? Will I smell like fish when I leave? Will she smell like fish while we're there?
Thanks for the help.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Re: Date Night: Waterfront
If it's a weeknight you probably won't need a reservation, but it can get a little crowded on Wednesdays because that's when they run specials, so it probably wouldn't hurt... It's pretty casual.

Re: Date Night: Waterfront
Not the fanciest place in the world, but that's ok. I like it because it's not stuffy like Splash. Jeans at Waterfront would not be underdressed. But with jeans, maybe a shirt with buttons would be appropriate. Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen. -

check out the store for whats fresh. Some times not on menu but you can order, just ask. Reservations are always good, impresses date. Friends with owners have a nice night

Thanks for the help. For your sake, I sure hope not.
If she smells like fish, there's no need for a second date. -

True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

This used to be the only place you could get good fresh sushi in Iowa. They used to fly fish in overnight. I haven't been there in 8 years or so, but was impressed back in the day.

And like The_Architect said, best seafood in Des Moines.
