So, some of you on here already know this but, my wife and I found out yesterday that we're having twins in mid-October. Does anyone have any experience with this at all??? Forgot to ask the doctor and was wondering how we could tell if we are having fraternal or identical??? Or do we just have to wait until they're here?? Thanks in advance for any info provided!!
Being an identical twin, I can recommend a couple things. First of all, as far is if they are identical or not, they cant always tell. My friend just had identical twin boys and they had to do some kind of test after they were born. I think he said if they are in the same sack(i think thats the word he used), they are identical, if they arent(his werent), then there is a small chance they are identical. Anyway, on to the advice.
1) Dont dress them alike when they are old enough to realize it.
2) When they are old enough for pop, candy bars, etc, dont make them share everything. We always has to split a pop or break a candy bar in half and so on. Which of course led to fights on who got the bigger share.
Other than than, I loved being a twin.

First of all congrats.
I have twin boys, they are 6 now. Let me warn you, the first year is really hard with 2. Especially if you do not have experience yet. But once you get through the first year, it is much easier, and so much more fun.
Do you have any other children? My sister and brother in law had twins when her oldest was 9 and 2nd child was 18 months. The older child helps a lot. From watching her, I would say keeping a sense of humor is about the most important thing. And congrats.
I think the biggest things doctors recommend you do initially is to determine which one is the evil one... VERY important for obvious reasons

Only experience I have is I married a identical twin 30 years ago. Have been the 2nd choice ever since Twins are inseparable, been a lot of Fun! Really it has...

Congratulations. I'm a fraternal twin. I agree with CyFlier. My parents didn't dress us the same as we're different genders but I absolutely hated it when they wanted us to be in the same class. Good thing during high school, we were able to sit in separate class.
Congratulations! My wife and I had fraternal twin boys over 35 years ago. Didn't know until 2 weeks before they were born that we were having twins. I was in grad school at ISU and we didn't have much income. Just enjoy the ride, you will be very busy the first few years but it is a rewarding experience. My sons are now married with kids of their own and successful careers. Have fun!
