Your "Music To Check Out" List
Anyone got one of these? I'm always looking for new music. I just downloaded Danyo Cummings, Tristan Prettyman, and Anuhea last night. I really like the island/reggae alternative stuff.
What music is on your check out list?

Stumbled upon Tyrone Wells a couple of years ago. Kind of interesting checking in on his website and/or myspace page to see what kind of new music he's making. Good chill tunes.

I've become a big fan of MGMT. This album has been out about 2 years. New one coming out next month.

Honestly I like the whole Oracular Spectacular album. Time to Pretend, The Youth, Future Reflections are some good ones.

Not very new but I really like Chinese Democracy by GnR. I dont know if Axl has any credibility anymore but I just don't remember many people talking about it when the album came out. Also I've been listening to Halfway to Hazard non-stop the past week. Awesome country/southern rock band that hardly no one knows about.

Theres a band made up of guys from my hometown. The name is The Warm Whiskey Band. You may have seen them if you were ever in Fort Dodge or at Okoboji at Murphys, they perform there quit a bit. I like their stuff, it's a little different than most of the stuff I listen to.
Check them out My Playlist by The Warm Whiskey Band on MySpace Music - listen to songs & purchase MP3s I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -
Re: Your "Music To Check Out" List
I love that someone else here has mentioned Tyrone Wells. He's amazing. He'll actually be in Des Moines (at Drake) next Thursday (3/25) doing an acoustic show with Tony Lucca (another one of my favorites). I'll be selling merch, so be sure to say "hey" if you make it out.
I have so many favorites, the list would be a blur. Most recently, I bought albums by Benjy Davis Project, Sara Haze, Todd Carey and Curtis Peoples. They're pretty much in constant rotation at the moment.

What music is on your check out list? Anuhea is on radio margaritaville all the time. I really like her.

Re: Your "Music To Check Out" List
The Hold Steady's "Heaven is Whenever" comes out in May. They're one of my favorite bands, so I'm really, really excited for that.
Drive-By Truckers just released a new album "The Big To Do", and it's probably going to be my favorite album of this year. If you get it on itunes, the bonus track is balls out cover of "Strutter" by Kiss.
I have Spoon's "Transference" but haven't given it a proper listen yet. I like the little bit I've heard.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have an album "Mojo" coming out soon as well. Petty's last album, "Highway Companion" was really good, so hopefully this is in the same vein.
