I don't see it as a spoiler, for there is zero conformation on what the hell he is talking about. In my view, it just adds to the conversation. Okay, gotcha. It is intriguing, because I think that's exactly what the island might be. I can't wait until the end, but it's going to be bittersweet.
Tropical recluse, eh? Where do I apply? -

Lots of factors.
1. Don't get student loans. Get a job, and for other income, grow and sell "plants" to subsidize the cost of school
2. Buy land at 18 and hope for a bypass on that land. $$$$$$$$$$
3. Marry a wife who is crazy career driven and doesn't spend a lot on shoes. (She has calmed down now that she lives in Hawaii)
The dude worked hard, got away with a little "plant" selling, and got lucky.
Now he is going to sail to Tahiti on his own boat soon.
As for LOST, I never thought of the island as a cork to an evil underworld until today.

Re: LOST: Ab Aeterno
So if the island is a cork, I would assume it's holding in one of the two: MIB, or the electromagnetism. Thoughts on which one it might possibly be?

The "cork" implies it is stopping something, holding something back.... probably something to do with the reason why MIB wants off the Island and why Jacob worked so hard to keep him there. Gonna be a great last few episodes.

This will be amazing...Roman times when it was Roman Egyptian rule around 30 BCE

Yep, LOST is awesome. When it is over, I will be, well, lost.

It has pretty much been established that he was on the boat. However, that doesn't mean he didn't leave the island, only to return on the Black Rock.
Guess we should know pretty soon.

If in 50 years he told another person "yeah I've been here" that doesn't mean he was actually from the ship.

Guess we should know pretty soon. He said he had been there before, but that doesn't mean he actually came from it. There's a lot of allusions to it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was "from" the ship and I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't "from" the ship. We're led to believe a few things that he could be from the slave ship, but at the same time Illana refers to him as Ricardus (latin), the name of this episode is in Latin, and there's a bunch of random egyptian things on the island...which again around 30 BCE began a joint Roman-Egyptian rule of both kingdoms.
IMO, Richard did not arrive on the island on the black rock. I believe MIB enslaved him on the ship for some time using the chains i.e. a prison.

Flocke said to Richard "Glad to see you out of those chains, Richard" before he kicked the hell out of him and dragged him to the jungle. Last week, Richard was staring at those chains.

Again, if in 50 years Hurley was on the island, a new batch of Losties came and he said "yeah i've been here before"..it doesn't mean he actually arrived on the ship.

Anybody have any idea what he means? I hate cryptic messages. It has been floating around in the ocean?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I understand what you are saying, but all the signs point to Richard deeply connected to the Black Rock. He was indeed making a replica of it in a bottle.
You may be right. Maybe he didn't arrive on the ship. Maybe he was always there. We will find out soon enough.
