This is the internet, sadly it involves a loss of knowing exactly what someone meant which you would get with a conversation in person. All we know is your sarcastic/outlandish comment past so yes that's what we took it as, and those smiley's may seem like a joke but help a lot in knowing what someone is actually trying to say.

Is that sarcasm? When is the last time you personally shelled out $60 for a stranger? He could have taken the easy way out and written a ticket. The kid would still be unsafe and the mother probably still wouldn't be able to afford a car seat. Instead he decided to do what small thing he could to make a change in one mother and child's life. How do we know he hasn't done this before but this is the first time it has made the media?

By the way, anyone who has had to buy a carseat in the last ten years would probably be shocked that you could even get a carseat for $60. You can drop over $100 without even starting to get any features on them.
