Cornhole (Bags) League in Des Moines Area

Cyclonefanatics and everyone else.....

My buddy and I are looking into creating a weekly bag league in Des Moines and surrounding area. What I am trying to do is gauge the interest of people and see how many teams we can come up. The more teams, the more there is to win at the end of the league.

We want to start the league in May and have the regular season go through July. Then August would start the playoffs. We have 3 sets of regulation boards, made up to regulation standards of the Cornhole Association along with bags.

We are thinking of starting at 6 or 6:30 pm on either Tues or Wed night depending. We are looking for 2 bars to help hold all of us, since this is a drinking game. So far I have 1 bar in mind that will likely host us, I just need to find another bar in WDSM or even somewhere near downtown for everyother week.

If anyone is interested, or have ideas for a bar that I could contact, please PM. I think we have most of the details worked out already including cost per team. This would be a great time to meet new people and also get out of the house.

FYI, they've got a bags league at Volleys/Plaza Lanes/Trophys on Douglas in Des Moines.

Well thanks for the info. Obviously they do a great job of advertising it since no one i knew knows about it. Might have to see about it. Still will probably follow through with creating another league though.

No practicing?? Heck everytime I grill we have to pull the boards out. I forgot how much work it is making new sets.

Well, I don't want you to become "Cornhole guy" and get ridiculed by certain people on this board. I mean really, if you want to play a real game play yard darts.

As long as you don't have a goatee, I see no problem with practicing bags.
