If it was 58 in your house would you turn on the heat?

It's a lot easier to dress warm in your house then it is to get cool in a hot house. The $2/day that spend on air by making it go from 82 to 75 in my house is well worth it to me.

Re: Anyone have the AC on at their house?

I wanted to turn mine on last night, it was so stuffy in my place. I had my bedroom window open, wasn't enough, opened my deck door in the living room and it created so much suction that my curtain rod broke. I live on the 17th floor and I liken it to opening a door on an airplane. So i shut my window and slept on the couch in front of the deck door. I was really proud to make it almost the whole winter w/ out turning the heat on, until I woke one night sweating bullets to realize the g/f had turned it on. I raged. I live in a building w/ about 200 senior citizens that keep my place nice and warm.

I turned mine on last night around 10:30 and turned it off at 5. Made it easier to sleep.

If it gets below 60, I've heard horror stories about busting pipes. I've never heard of blowing out a pipe because it was 80 in the house.

This is the reason that I would never want to live in an area where air conditioning is required.

I spend most of my free time outdoor pursuing a number of recreational activities. It is impossible to get cool in a hot outdoors since there are only so many clothes you can take off. However, I can always put clothes on to be comfortable outside.
