He did kinda make the same offerings and FLocke does. "Anything you want I'll get it for you."
And the whole Desmond/ring idea got me thinking... what if Desmond wants the manifest to see if he was actually on the plane...well...not on it (because he remembers being on it) but if he ever BOARDED it.
Why does Eloise not want Desmond to propose to Penny in The Constant, and why does she not want him to meet Penny last week? I wonder if its because he is going to have to sacrifice himself and its easier to do that potentially without any ties? Or that they are trying to save Penny from the pain of losing the love of her life since they know what Desmond must one day do?
'Until things are brighter, I'm the man in black.'
And I am starting to think that the sideways timeline we are seeing is not any real thing at all...that it's sort of a Matrix world..that the MiB has created to trick people into thinking they have left the island when maybe they haven't at all
I agree with this. It's could be an illusion and Desmond is starting to see through it, which is why he was being scolded by Eloise.
While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
Ahh. That throws a wrench in it for me. It seems the alternate timeline started much earlier than the plane taking off.....
Yes the alternative timeline started in the 70's when the nuke blew up on the Island. Therefore any of the events caused by Jacob, or the Dharma initiative or whoever's actions on the island are negated in the alternative timeline.
I've seen it referenced on here that there is supposed to be a 4 letter word that describes the Island. I am thinking the word is "game." Based on Jacob/MIB with the White and Black stones, all the references to "that's against the rules", and now Eloise stating "That's a violation!" to Desmond when he was trying to figure out the things he was seeing from the other timeline and find Penny.
Finally rewatched it. Always better the second time, and I realized I missed a thing or two, but nothing consequential. I can see where there was more plot development, but still really want to get to some on island action! This week, hopefully. Every episode is so crucial.
I thought last week's episode was one of my favorites of the series. The theory about MIB creating this alternate reality to trick everyone is interesting. This episode made me completely shirft how I thought about how the show was going to end. I think it did that for a lot of people.
I found it interesting that Desmond met Penny in the same stadium that he met Jack in several seasons ago. And that Penny, just like Jack, asked if they had ever met before.
