Elton John
Anyone else going or are MrsWx and I gonna be lonely?

Re: Elton John
You probably won't be lonely, but is sure doesn't look like many on this site are going with you.
I like a few of his songs, but it takes a lot to get me to a concert.

Re: Elton John
I have a friend that went to his concert Saturday night here in Austin.....she said it was absolutely awesome. He is touring with the original band members from his "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" album.

Re: Elton John
I will be there with my gf. I have seen him once before and it was GREAT!!

Re: Elton John
I saw him about 10 years ago. Fantastic show. You will have alot of fun.

Re: Elton John
I haven't seen him since the first John/Joel tour in '94, as long as he's playing rock n roll and not Lion King stuff it should be great.

Re: Elton John
I won tickets from the Des Moines Register, but I gave them to my G/F and her mom...

Re: Elton John
I'm surprised that you can go anywhere. You know, you being married to a celebrity and all.

The sound is great. 2d, he is a piano virtuoso. I saw him 3 years agbo in Orlando and he never left the stage. The band and the chorus which was travelling twith him, all took breaks, but Elton entertained while they were gone - there was no break in the show. Finally, the thing you don't realize is the richness of his voice. His voice is going to blow you away. It is not revealed on any of his recordings, but his voice is big and rich. You are going to be glad you went. He is one ow the best entertainers ever in the world, and he's not going to last much longer (he's a "high mileage" model). Wish I were going.

Re: Elton John
Planning on a great show. He's getting up there in age and likely will never be back to this part of the country again. There are just some entertainers you gotta see when they are in the area. EJ is surely one of them.
Who is on your "Must pay the price" list?

Re: Elton John
Going with the GF. Thank god it's at 7, as I'll be able to catch some VEISHEA festivities yet tomorrow night.
I like the early stuff. Tiny Dancer, Levon, Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters are all great songs, but don't like his new stuff. If he leans more towards the 70's, it'll be a great show. If it leans towards the Lion King crap, I'll be disappointed.

Re: Elton John
Anybody see Elton at Hilton in the late 70s early 80s on a Saturday night after a football game? He was on top of the charts with a dozen #1s and he comes out in a Cyclone football jersey. The place goes wild because it was a special treat. He wore it for the first tune before gigging for his stage gear.

Re: Elton John
Elton John is a great showman. I wasn't at his concert in the late 70's but I did go to one earlier in the 70's. It was one of the most enjoyable concerts I've been to.
