This is the best fried chicken I have ever had. Ever. Nobody else comes close. You should see this place on the weekend. They have two huge rooms, and they will be packed, and there will still be 30 people in line just to get seated. Again, this is happening in the middle of BFE. The chicken is amazing. There is a place in Illinois called Rips Tavern in Ladd... Best chicken on earth. They have fried pickle slices, they bring out baskets of the fried chicken breading like Long John Silvers.
No silverware, no plates... Eat with your hands and damn cheap beer... Great place.

Used to have a family Christmas in the amanas every year and I would just destroy breakfast at that place. But nothing comes close to the 8 pork chops and three bowls of sauerkraut I ate at the Colony Inn for our Christmas party. Ah the memories.

Re: fried chicken?
There is a Bojangles less than 1 mile from my house right now......maybe I'll get it for lunch tomorrow. This is the best part about living in the south....chicken and buscuits.

Re: fried chicken?
If you like Ryans, or Bonanza, or other retiree food the Amanas is the place for you.

OK:
Put your flour in a bag or plastic container and add some salt and pepper to it to season the flour. cut the chicken up (halve each breast so that you have 4 pieces of breast and leave the skin on.) then pat it dry.
Heat your oil to about 350, make sure it is up to temp (using an electric skillet works well). Shake the chicken in the flour to lightly coat it, dip it in egg wash, then shake it in the seasoned flour again, shake off excess flour, and into the pan. Fry your chicken about 10-12 min on a side (turning once) (20-25 min total). Cover the pan for the last 8-10 mins. Be sure to have your camera ready, it will be beautiful and delicious.
Experiment with seasoning your flower. I like a little ground sage and garlic powder also.
Hope you enjoy it.
