    A Nightmare on Elm Street

Anyone else disappointed that they are remaking this? For those who grew up in the 80's and early 90's know Robert Enguld should be the only one ever to play Freddy.

meh, the entire slasher genre is built on crappy sequels and remakes that didn't need to be made. It's sort of expected.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street

I've been looking forward to this for years.

That being said, the fact that Robert Englund wasn't asked to do Freddy is disappointing.

He was actually pretty ****** off when they didn't ask him.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street

The first couple Nightmares were really good. Then they just started getting too silly and stupid. The movies didn't have normal scary moments and they tried to add some comedy with it.

I wouldn't mind this reboot or remake or whatever if they stick with what made the first two good. Freddy popping out of no where, plenty of gore, and the minor nude scenes.

    Not that hard.

Ohhh and no Robert Englund will be different. He is Freddy.

I know Robert Englund is the original, but I looking forward to what Jackie Earle Haley brings to the character. He was a badass as Rorschach in the Watchman, and I assume he'll be pretty good as Freddy too.

You forgot killing a young Johnny Depp. That was an added bonus in the first movie.

    Johnny Depp's first movie.
I liked the first one, the rest stunk. The exploding parakeet scene in NOES 2 has got to be one of the dumbest scenes ever. At least I think it was #2

I didn't want it to be remade. I grew up on Elm St in the 80's and that freaked me out. Damn repressed childhood memories coming back.

Who would have thought Kelly Leak would grow up to be a mass murderer. He did smoke when he was 10 years old.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street

You can say this about a numerous number of movies that have tarnished childhood memories. Transformers, Miami Vice, A-Team, Starsky & Hutch, Shaft, Clash of the Titans, etc.
