Looking for PIG FACILITIES near Ames
I'm moving to Ames in June to start my Ph.D. I did my B.S. at ISU, but moved out of state to work on my masters. Now, I'm coming back and can't wait. I can't wait for nice traffic and to see what Hoiberg can do!
Now, my request, or lookin for, is this. I am a big fan of raising pigs, as that is what I have done my whole life, but my family got out of the business recently and I am looking for a place near ames to raise a few pigs. If anyone has any possibilities or knows of anyone who would like to help a young grad student out, please let me know (pm me or write on here).
P.S. (I'm getting married soon, and would like a refuge from the wife, haha jk)
Thanks. Go Clones.

Most apartments have pet clauses, although most list dogs and cats, maybe you could find a loophole with pigs.

What exactly are you looking for? Just some land? Buildings? Or are you looking for a farmer that will let you raise your pigs with his?

You should go talk to the bar manager of Outlaws, they always have there fair share of pigs running around on the weekends, I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few more

My preference would be some empty buildings to put pigs in, but that is tough to find. If someone with pigs would allow me to run a few with theirs in return for some free labor that would be great too.

How many is a few? I have some friends who raise pigs. They want to know how many and what type of facility you are wanting?
I don't know anything about pigs just trying to help out another fanatic.

Could you lease them from ISU? Not sure about having pigs that close to the fraternities though -
Re: Moving to Ames, looking for....
How many head are you thinking? Indoors, outdoors, pasture, feedlot? Year round or just the warmer months? Are you looking to live on an acreage or just come out to work? And how far from Ames are you willing to travel?
