Driving in Moscow is like a NASCAR race with no finish line. Rubbing is racing there. The quality of most of the cars and trucks are worse than any thing on the roads here in the US. People don't think anything of just fixing their car right where it breaks down...even if that is in the middle of a 4 lane road during rush hour. Just pop the hood and see what you can do.
The really nice stuff is owned by mobsters and they're the only people who get any respect on the road...mainly because hitting them is a potential death sentence. Our interpreter in Moscow had a friend that rear-ended a Mercedes SUV and the guy got out, tossed him the keys and said "this is your car now...get me a new one in 24 hours or I'll have you killed"...then took the guy's license.
Moscow is a neat city and worth seeing. We spent about 5 days there total between trips (we adopted from Russia) and enjoyed it.
