Lazerfest anyone go?
I was reading the reviews from the Rag and the writer got there late and only covered a few of the later bands. I was wondering how the local band, "Dead Horse Traum" did. Not my kind of music but they are local guys.

You could not pay me enough to go to that.

Me either for that matter.
I work with one of the band members father. For those into that kind of music only wondered what they thought. It is my understanding that they are getting some attention nationally for what I guess is called "Death Metal". Even though their music is not my style, I wish them well.
This thread is dying like Dead Horse Traum, isn't it?

Didn't catch those guys. Went to see Papa Roach and Three Days Grace. Thought Lazerfest as a whole stunk. I probably won't go again. Too many people and bands didn't have very long sets.

Re: Lazerfest anyone go?
Traffic, parking, food lines were all terrible. Band sets too short and locating the stages on the top of a hill was dumb. Lots of white trash which means hawk fans. Other than that it was great:)

Other than that it was great:) I was thinking about the WT wearing hawk gear as I strolled around yesterday. There was certainly an inordinate amount of hawk gear vs Cyclone gear.
I did have a fellow Cyclone get me a beer since I hadn't got my wrist band yet but he wasn't a loser.

I live a mile away from the balloon field, and had to listen to the music until midnight or so, vibrating my walls, along with the intermitent emergency vehicle sirens. Not a fan of it to say the last. Damn whippersnappers. -
Re: Lazerfest anyone go?
I went...and it was awesome. There were a lot of people with no teeth and shirts from 1965...but the headliner bands were fantastic. I can certainly see why some people would not enjoy it, but if you like Godsmack, Papa Roach, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, etc, etc then you would have liked the concert. Sorry for those trying to sleep within hearing distance. However, that was probably the most amazing event to take place in Indianola since...ever.

Sorry for those trying to sleep within hearing distance. However, that was probably the most amazing event to take place in Indianola since...ever. I've seen Papa Roach and Three Days Grace numerous times and yesterday was by far their worst sets I've ever seen. It was kinda cool to see old man Alice Cooper and his front porch. Didn't hang around for Godsmack, wanted to beat traffic and it was a school night.
The people watching was excellent.

Re: Lazerfest anyone go?
Edit to my previous post: I went with people that wanted to get there early enough to beat the HUGE lines and parking problems. We also stayed the whole time so we didn't have to deal with the traffic that left early, so I did not deal with any of that. I had not seen any of the bands other than Skillet, so I was pretty impressed overall. My group actually thought Seether or Zombie had the best sets of all of them.

Re: Lazerfest anyone go?
I went and it was freaking awesome. Of course the sets were short, this is a concert festival, the sets aren't going to be 2 hours a piece. First time ever a Lazerfest sold out, 25,000 people. The show rocked but I guess most of you fogies aren't into that sort of music, oh well.
Yeah a lot of white trash hawk fans but hell, do you guys rip on the Iowa State fair too because it's too white trashy and crowded?

Re: Lazerfest anyone go?
Working there, I was more than ready to head out at 10 when I did. The lines were insane and feel bad for everyone who just wanted to get food. Not only did they not have enough vendors to sell food, but not enough food to sell everyone.
It was damn chilly, for me anyway, and most the bands I didn't care. Zombie is always a favorite of mine, thus I'm biased to say he had the best set, and the local band that got voted to play was not impressive in my opinion. I couldn't tell one song from the next.
Would I work it again, yes - would I buy a ticket to go, NO!
