ISU Kids Home Decor
So I promised my 4 year old that I would get rid of the baby stuff in his room finally and make him a Cyclone room this weekend. Going to paint one wall Cardinal and then just hang up some posters, signs, etc and maybe put an ISU comforter on his bed (although the ones I have found on-line are crazy expensive).
So I have two questions for you guys.
1. What is the correct color number for ISU Cardinal that I can take into a paint place to have made. I know it's on ISU's website somewhere but I am too lazy to look right now.
2. Where is the best place around central Iowa to get some reasonably priced ISU decor for a kids room. We are thinking about making it a combination of an ISU football and basketball locker room theme. If he's lucky maybe I'll hang up my two autographed jerseys of Hoiberg and Loren Meyer. My version of a man cave got turned into a kids toy room so they aren't doing much right now anyway.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: ISU Kids Home Decor
I would try the Strawberry Patch in Ames at the mall for inexpensive ISU stuff.

Re: ISU Kids Home Decor
Go to a local vinyl shop and see how much to make a custom "wallstar". you could probably take any cyclone image and have it blown up for your decor.

When I think of strawberry patch I think of very cheaply built t-shirts and sweatshirts. But I will have to take a look.

I would paint this on one wall -
Re: ISU Kids Home Decor
Was in the Strawberry Patch in Ankeny a few weeks ago and saw a 'wall buddy' there of the old skool Cy (marching Cy) for less than $30. I was bummed because I needed one just a smidge smaller for a project at our house. It's rolled up, in a tube on the north wall. There were ~3 there at that time.

Re: ISU Kids Home Decor
The Menard's in Ankeny has the paint mix in their computer, but I am not sure if that is the case with all Menard's or just Ankeny. I would also make sure to confirm it is the new color if that is what you want.

Don't ask whoever buys uniforms for the teams. They don't seem to know because they seem to keep getting different shades.

Thanks for any advice. I think it's in this link somewhere, but I didn't look through all of the information. Visual Identity System
EDIT: It says this, "Since color is one of the most powerful ways a university can identify itself, employee apparel orders should be either red (match to Pantone 186, the university's official cardinal red), gold (match to Pantone 142) or white."

Re: ISU Kids Home Decor
I recently did my sons room and we got a big I-State Logo wall sticker and then found the exact matching paint at Home Depot. They have all the official NCAA paints there. The only thing that I didn't like.....the paint was Glidden....not the best but it did OK.... Turned out well.
