Good places for lunch in Urbandale area?
I'm taking a few prospective clients out to lunch next week. Their corporate office is in Urbandale, out by the Super Target off the 141 exit. Where's a good place to go that isn't too stuffy but also isn't McDonald's? Doesn't necessarily have to be in Urbandale, but I'd like it to be within 5-10 minutes of their building. Thanks.

Honey Baked Ham has fantastic sandwiches with a mustard that blows the mind.
Seriously. revkah and I ate there with a gift certificate from work, and she's never heard me talk about a sandwich like I did about that one.

Urban grille on 86th. Get the chicken tortilla soup before lunch.
Sounds like you may be taking someone from my office to lunch as a perspective client.

Tsing Tsao isn't bad if you're looking for quick chinese.. otherwise.. I'm not sure if 86th and Hickman is too far for you but Tasty Tacos is never a bad choice.
Not sure if you wanted nicer than that, but neither is McDonald's-esque

There's a Legends and Okoboji Grill next exit east on 80/35.

Palmers Deli at Douglas & 75 St., great sandwiches and salads. Large seating area, and you can sit indoors or outdoors.

What type of relationship do you have? I work in the same area, and one of my favorite restaurants to go to is Victors (75th and Douglas). Yes, its a bar, but they have great lunch. I'd also second Palmers, great open area and large selection.

Don't take Al's opinion here too seriously.....he hates the place because he got shot down by a waitress there.

I actually tried Ruby Tuesday's recently, not expecting much, but it was pretty good. I don't usually like chains (this is a bit like an applebee's if you've never been) but this was different enough to seem new and the price was very reasonable. other than that my favorite locals are, Taki for sushi, El Rodeo for Mexican, Flying Mango for BBQ, and Chef's kitchen or J Benjamin's for atmosphere and traditional steak house/italian menu.
