People who sit in the left turn lane without pulling into the intersection and go through an entire cycle of the light without turning. You CAN pull ahead and complete your turn on red after oncoming traffic has stopped, you know.
Politicians. They will say WHATEVER gets them elected and do NONE of it. Remember how huge an issue energy policy was in the last election? Not a WORD about it since.
Basketball coaches. They are slimy used car salesman with nice suits. Not The Mayor, of course.
People who think they could get up off their couch, pick up a whistle and instantly do a better job than highly-trained sports officials. But when offered the opportunity, they never do.
Packaging. Why is it I have to risk injury to open a package nowadays? I should not have to have a special tool in my toolbox for opening DVDs.
Work. It sucks.

There are many more I'm sure I'm forgetting. This list will have to do for today because I'm at work. And it sucks.

The problem with the bolded part is that if the people from both directions do this, it makes it harder to see around each other. The reason for the stop bar is that is the location you are supposed to stop, not just to use up some extra paint.

All of the people on here and in person that correct my grammar. I'm not in your english class. If you do not like the way I type or the way I talk then dont read my posts or stand/sit where you can hear me talk.

I seem to have survived for this long without the superior knowledge that you have when using the English language, so there.

The stop bar is where you are supposed to stop for a red light. It is acceptable to stop in the intersection while you wait for traffic to clear and proceed when safe. You should then clear the intersection when it is safe to proceed (which may be after the light turns yellow). I understand what you are saying. You don't have to be two or three car lengths into the intersection, but if you are half a car length over the stop bar you can finish your turn after the light changes if necessary.

I'm just going to do a few that I've run into while living in Indiana.

It's "wash", not "warsh". It's also "library", not "liberry".

"Pop", not "soda".

And in what messed up world is a vacuum a "sweeper"? Someone says to sweep the floor and look at me like I'm crazy when I go for a broom.

They also put elbow maccaroni in their chilli. I'm sorry, but when you do that, it's just ghoulash with chilli powder.

People who wear WAY too much purfume.
Specifically, a lady here at work who got the most god-awful purfume for Christmas and doused herself with it every morning at her desk. When approached by one of the department managers to tone it down, she responded "But it's new" - as if that's a valid reason to make everyone in the room suffer. She decided to douse herself in her car, right before she came into work, instead of at her desk literally 2 minutes later. Thankfully she stopped wearing said horrible purfume, but replaced it with something only slightly less unpleasant and now wears way to much of it instead.

This thread is very interesting. As is in-tres-ting, or in-truh-sting. Although there is still an application of in-t(e)-resting in Websters, it is widely taught as in-truh-sting. I have never found an acceptable application of in-TER-est-ing. Steve Deace is one of the worst offenders of this, and it drives me crazy.

When you deposit money at the bank Steve, do you collect in-trust (in-trest), or in-TER-ust?

People that say "I"talian instead of "It"alian. Do they not realize that it's not called "I"taly.

Unsolicited phone sales and especially the ones while I am eating dinner in the evening.

Computerized political phone calls.

Unsolicited phone calls that are live and the person is doing a "survey" in order to skirt the no call law.

Alumni phone calls asking for donations using current students.

Incidentally, I read clear through this thread and could not believe that unsolicited calls did not make the list. I guess I am anti-social and against free enterprise!

Only so much conference stuff I can read through, so brought this back. Last night my neighbor mowed his lawn and overlapped on our property line. Not 6 inches but 2 mower widths. He has a 50 inch riding mower so he mowed 8 feet onto my property. He ended up about 3 feet away from some of my landscaping. He is trying to take over the neighborhood little by little.
