Re: Summer Beer Thread
I might get taken to town, but I do like Miller Lime. Not as big of a fan of Bud Light lime.
Summer Shady is also excellent!
But the most important part of the equation is COLD!

Re: Summer Beer Thread
Boulevard Tank 7. Not sure it really qualifies as a summer ale but it's not the easiest to find either. Started showing up on Hy-Vee shelves around here lately and El Bait Shop has it on tap. It comes in a 750ml bottle at the store so you'll likely find it with the non-refridgerated beers.

Re: Summer Beer Thread
Is Summer Shady widely available, or more of a specialty store type thing?

Re: Summer Beer Thread
I got done bartending the other night and sat down at the end of the bar for a beer. Our cooler has been a bit funky lately, first it wasnt cool enough, then it was too cold and freezing beer. We brought a guy in and he "thought" he fixed it. The first beer I pulled out was covered in frost, so needless to say, I was a bit fearful for my customer. He said it was perfect, almost too cold, but not frozen at all. I thought, ok, maybe I'll check back throughout the night to be sure they arent freezing. Sure enough, throughout the entire night they were staying just above freezing.
Anyways, back to the beginning of the story, after work, I cracked open a Summer Shandy just above freezing temp in a sweaty hot bar...may have been my best moment this summer.

Re: Summer Beer Thread
Thanks guys.
Who brews it?
Aside - went on a trip through Colorado last week. Wife was very upset we hit New Belgium on a Sunday when they're closed. Ended up at a place called Coopersmith's in Ft Collins. Good stuff - however I recommend staying away from the jalepeno beer.

Question for everyone though. Is it available on tap anywhere?

Re: Summer Beer Thread
I know this is supposed to be about beer, but you really can't beat a good gin and tonic during the summer.

Re: Summer Beer Thread
Big Sky IPA - it's got a citrus flavor and is great cold.
