Looking for ideas for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I'd like to rent a closed in shelter or room where I could get it catered in, we'll have a lot of people there since we are inviting out of town guests.
We tried to rent the Simpson Barn in Johnston but the city canceled that on us and need it for their own use.
Her family is from Pennsylvania so somewhere unique would be nice.
Ideas?
I guess I don't know if this is in your realm of areas, but, a few years ago I attended a rehearsal dinner at the Nature Lodge at Raccoon River Park. It was a very nice place for a rehearsal.

Called there but they have to keep it reserved for the month of June for the HyVee triathlon.

Celebration Barn near Cumming, IA is pretty cool although would not be shocked if it's already booked for a wedding.
Are you looking for outdoors only options?
If not, I'd check with the Capital Room in the East Village. Haven't been there, but from my understanding you get a great view of the Capitol Building so it can be a neat setting for events such as this.

Plus you mentioned they are from PA and you wanted something unique. Well…I'm sure they're expecting barns in Iowa, so is that the route you really want to go?
