iPhone 4 reception "fix"

So it wasn't hands over the attenna or how people were holding the phone after all...

Just Apple's reception "bars" were not based in reality.

IPhone Reception "Fix"

Although nothing is really being fixed, calls are still going to drop like crazy, it just won't look like you have great reception.

Maybe the bars get cut off at the top of the screen, there's actually 18 bars in the scale, you just have 3 out of 18.

Sounds like they just wanted to make it look like you had more bars because I hear people with iphones complain about the service all the time, I don't think it was a "mistake"

I fail to understand what point they're trying to get across here. There is obviously some substantial attenuation going on that's affecting the signal strength; the fact that they are displaying the signal strength wrong is just another problem.

Bought an original 3G several years ago and the damn thing couldn't get a signal in our house. I have a video somewhere of my wife's ancient phone with 4 bars next to the iPhone with 2 bars. Then we dialed the iPhone from the older phone, and the iPhone never rang. Left it alone and a couple of hours later it did show I had a missed call. Returned it the next day, and have never been tempted by another Apple product since...
