Re: Horses injure 24 people in Bellevue parade
My home area. Bellevue used to have some great 4th of July fireworks over the Mississippi.
Bad deal. You never know with animals.

Someone is now dead out of this situation. Hopefully people keep in mind that it was an accident and don't go overboard with restrictions on parades.

Re: Horses injure 24 people in Bellevue parade
there are city councils everywhere waiting to hear how much this will cost Bellevue - its too bad, but I've ridden in a couple parades and even with the safest animals its a fine line between "horse zone" and "people zone".
I heard one reporter mention a bridle/harness came off of one horse? any furhter details on that?
its tragic someone died ... 9 more in serious or critical condition - sad stuff.

Could be the end of parades. I remember the days when small town Iowa parades meant collecting tons of candy, get drenched by fire truck fire hoses, horses, tractors and seeing some floats (hay racks with a sign on the side).
Candy and fire hoses are already gone in most places. Now were are down to tractors pulling hay racks with signs on the side. Awesome.
At the same time prayers to the people involved and their families.
