Donald Kaul
Just finished "How to light a Water Heater and Other War Stories" by former RAG columnist Donald Kaul. It's quite dated (1970), but this guy is brilliant.
Proof that the RAG once had talent in their pool.

Re: Donald Kaul
Donald Kaul is one polarizing individual.

Re: Donald Kaul
From what I've read of his opinion page articles, he makes absolutely no sense and makes leaps logically that no rational man would. JMO.

Yep. That is what I like the most.

Re: Donald Kaul
I've alway's found him bitter and lacking of understanding of the human spirit, the necessity of personal responsibility, and the limited role gov't should take in our lives. Other than that, yeah...he's brilliant!

Re: Donald Kaul
I remember him as witty, compassionate, and a watchdog of government and corporate greed and corruption. We could have used more like him in the media during the last decade and the country might not be in the mess we're in.

Other than that, yeah...he's brilliant! I agree. He was definitely more liberal than I find palatable. The only time I ever wrote a letter to the editor was in response to one of his diatribes about the NRA sponsoring a youth pheasant hunt.

Thanks for giving me an idea for the "Most annoying person...." thread

Re: Donald Kaul
I don't understand disliking a man based on his political views alone. I don't agree with Ann Coulter at all, but have read some of her work. She is witty, quite hilarious, and brilliant.
I don't believe in hating good work just because I don't agree with all of it. Seems short-sighted.
