I am playing. There have been a few major changes over the past couple of years. The greens were redone and they went in and cleared out a ton of old trees and hanging branches which has really opened the course up. The course is in perfect shape. You will love the greens as they are 100 times better then what they used to be.
No major changes that I can think of except the greens are actually running pretty fast right now...Alot of wet spots on the course because of all of the rain especially on hole #2. Should be a good weekend for golf---good luck
Not that I'm even close to to good enough to play in it but... how does one get into the Iowa Masters? Just sign up? Or a certain handicap? Or some qualifier?
Much of this was done following the 2008 flood. Last year it was in good shape. This year is wonderful.
BTW, this won't work tomorrow, but Veenker does have a Friday special of $50/person for all the golf you want and a cart. (Veenker Golf Course: Friday Frenzy)
Of course, you'll want to take advantage of the CF special any day/time you can.
Hopefully this year the pace of play will be better. For the first time ever I believe they are allowing the Open division players to ride carts. I am a big fan of this as I think 7 hour rounds of golf will be a thing of the past.
