Re: Book suggestions
Not a book, but I would recommend paperbackswap.com. It is real easy. You join up and enter in at least ten books that you want to get rid of. Then they give you two free credits so that you can look online for anyone else's books they want to get rid of. When you find one you want, you just order it and that person drops it in the mail and mails it to you. When someone wants one of your books, you are responsible for mailing it to them. Once they receive it, you have a credit to go order another book from someone else. It works out pretty slick. It only costs like 2 bucks to mail a paperback book so it is pretty cheap. I use it to find old out of date books.

This is not anything like Twilight, believe me. More like Stephen King's "The Stand". Ahhh sounds much more appealing that way I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -

Re: Book suggestions
Check out Stieg Larsson's trilogy beginning with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I just finished the recently released third book The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest & really enjoyed all 3 books. Lisbeth Salander is one of the most interesting characters I've encountered in a novel in a very, very long time. I also just watched the Swedish film version of Dragon Tattoo on Netflix & must say that the film was very well done. I shudder to think of what Hollywood will do with it's upcoming film interpretation.
I'll also echo the recommendation for World War Z. My wife HATES sci fi, but I managed to convince her to at least check out the audio book version. She got hooked very quickly. In fact, she'd often get home from work & then sit in the car for several minutes in the driveway because she didn't want to stop listening.

I just finished the trilogy, and all three of them were big-time page-turners.
The trilogy is being made into a Hollywood movie, too. And did you know that there are rumors of a fourth, unfinished book that may surface?

Re: Book suggestions
1. 61 hours, pretty good book
2. ***** my dad says by Justin Halpern is pretty darn funny, especially if you grew up with a father similar to his father. Not much thinking involved in this book, but it struck close to home with my own father.
3. Have a little Faith, really liked this book
Gladly accept the gifts of the present hour.

I do know that Larsson died shortly after he turned in the manuscripts for the first three books to his publisher, but it wouldn't be all that surprising to think he might have been working on a fourth book that wasn't quite ready for the editor. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the heads up! It's quite the drama...when Larsson died, he left no will. He had a common law wife, but that isn't recognized by Swedish law, so she got nothing....except the laptop that has the manuscript of this unfinished book! She's using that for leverage.

Re: Book suggestions
I'll throw another recommendation out there: Amazon.com: The Financial Lives of the Poets (9780061916045): Jess Walter: Books
A very funny book about a guy that is living the dream...overspending and losing everything in a dot.com bust. Things begin unravelling for him, and hijinks ensue. Ridiculously funny.

Re: Book suggestions
I liked "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and "The Girl Who Played With Fire", both by Stieg Larsson.
As I understand it, Mr Larsson died before his books were published. There is a third that has been published and possibly 4th that may be pubished that I don't know the titles.

That sounds like a nice plot for a story in itself.

Yes, but it's "Dragon Tattoo", and the 3rd one came out a month or so ago, called, "The Girl that Kicked the Hornet's Nest". The 4th one is the rumored one.
Larsson died shortly after turning in the manuscripts to his publisher, and didn't get to see the wild popularity of his books.
