Re: Book suggestions
If you like mystery Dick Francis is good to read. While they are in the Sci Fi realm I like the alternative history novels John Birmingham did a good one with a group of navy ships from 2021 being transported to 1942.

I am picking my way through The Irregulars which is something of a biography of Roald Dahl's time as a British espionage agent in the U.S. during WWII, which I randomly found in the ISU library the week before I graduated and tracked down a few months ago. It's pretty interesting. I'd also recommend Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. It's my all-time favorite, although I find that people love it or completely hate it.

I just read some of the first chapter of The Sandbox by Iowa State English Prof David Zimmerman. Can't wait to read more. Amazon.com: The Sandbox (9781569476284): David Zimmerman: Books
Also, if you're in to non-fiction and The Innocence Project, i suggest Picking Cotton. Great book. Re: Book suggestions
I am a BIG fan of Jack Higgins, particularly the Sean Dillon book series. I plan on starting this series from the beginning as soon as I'm finished with what I'm reading now (I've read most of the series disjointedly and I'd like to do it from the beginning and in order now that I have the time). Sean Dillon (Jack Higgins character) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I also love Higgins' book Sheba (which he originally wrote as Seven Pillars to Hell under the pen name Hugh Marlowe).
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: Book suggestions
I spend a lot of time on the subway so I read a lot... In any case, I tend to lean toward series as it makes it easy for me to pick out the next book (I read at least one book a week). Any of the below will be entertaining (as they have to be to ignore this crap SUBWAY DOUCHERY ) but I highly recommend the Steig Larsson books as they are entertaining and a little different. I'm currently working my way through the Lee Child series, but I've read everything else below... Oh, and anything by Nelson Demille is very good... I enjoy his sense of humor.
Spy Thrillers - Vince Flynn (Mitch Rapp series) and Brad Thor (Scott Harvath series), and Daniel Silva (Gabriel Allon Series) Stephen Hunter (Point of Impact (Movie "shooter based on this book), bob lee swagger series)
Crime thrillers - Lee Child (Jack Reacher Series), Steig Larson (girl w/ dragon tattoo, played with fire, kicked hornets nest, all excellent), Rock Paper Tiger (can't remember author), oh and Michael Connelly books are good as well.

Re: Book suggestions
I would recommend The Devil in the White City by Erik Larsen. It's the true story of the nearly impossible push to build and host the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893. Woven into it is the story of H. H. Holmes, America's first known serial killer who was preying on victims just a few blocks away.

This is going to be a series upcoming on HBO, BTW.
